I’m sharing my beauty and pop culture favorites from October!

October Favorites Picture Happy November!

The next two months are my absolute favorite of the entire year. The house is cozy, everything slows down, and we spend a ton of time baking and celebrating and reflecting on what we are more grateful for.

I have just about finished my Christmas shopping and I’m looking forward to browsing Sephora and Ulta to check out the latest holiday make-up collections. The value sets that come out at this time of year are the best! Hopefully I’ll have a couple of good ones to add to my November favorites list next month.

Here are my favorites from October:

1. NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette

Girls, don’t you even THINK about spending a fortune on those high-end brand contouring palettes! This does the job as good or better than any of them. I LOVE it and have been getting tons of compliments on my make-up since I started using it.

2. Lindt Creation Creme Brulee Bar

Hands down the best chocolate bar I’ve ever had. I’ve been able to find these at Target and I’ve been stocking up in case they quit selling them! There are even crispy caramelized bits in it like the top of creme brulee. To. Die.

3. Macadamia Cleansing Conditioner

My friend Shelly recommended this to me and I’ve been using it for about two months! I really love it — it’s a lot like WEN in that it’s a conditioner type product that also washes hair — it doesn’t foam! But unlike WEN, I haven’t had any issues with buildup or greasiness in my hair. I wash my hair once every other day and I am still on my first bottle. Just be sure to use it sparingly and really work it into your hair.

4. Ardell Natural Lash Multipack

I LOVE the look of long lashes! I have several friends who have lash extensions, and while they are GORGEOUS, I just don’t have the time and money to dedicate to keeping up with them. These falsies are a really great and inexpensive option! There is a learning curve with applying false lashes, but with a bit of practice, it’s easy peasy. I can stick a set on in a minute or two and I always get a ton of lash compliments when I wear them.

5. Dr. Bronner’s Fair Trade and Organic Castile Liquid Soap (Peppermint)

I LOVE this soap, especially during this time of year when my skin tends to get dry and itchy. It’s an oil that foams up once you rub it into your skin and it’s SO great. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and the peppermint is perfect for waking me up in the morning.

 6. Cook’s Country Eats Local: 150 Regional Recipes You Should Be Making No Matter Where You Live

I picked this up at my local bookstore and I’ve had the best time reading through it! It’s got great recipes but it’s also really interesting to read. I always love finding out about popular dishes in different parts of the country, and this book has lots of great pictures.

7. Quantico

I’ve been catching up on this on Hulu and so far it’s very good!

8. Homeland

Homeland is GOOD again! Finally! I’m loving this season and curious to see how things play out with Quinn.

That’s it for this month — I’d love to hear what you’ve been loving lately!
