Too Faced Born This Way promises naturally flawless looking skin. Does it deliver? Read my review to find out!
If you are even remotely interested in make-up, you have probably heard of Too Faced Born This Way foundation. It’s the new BIG THING and has been blowing up my Instagram feeds with glowing reviews.
I love Too Faced products in general. I use their loose powder and bronzer every day, so I was really excited to see how the new foundation measured up. The Too Faced brand isn’t exactly known for their foundation, so this could possibly be opening the door for a bunch more formulas from them!
With all the hype surrounding this foundation lately (and the high price tag), I figured it would be the perfect foundation for my review series!
Too Faced Born This Way Undetectable Medium-to-Full Coverage Foundation
What it promises: An oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way. Medium to Full Coverage.
Applied with: A slightly damp Beauty Blender. Prior to application I moisturized with Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme and used Benefit Porefessional Primer and a pea-sized dab of MAC Strobe Cream. My concealer is It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye.
Pros: The pump dispenser, for one. It makes it so easy to dispense! The foundation has a great texture — not too thick and creamy, but not runny like a lot of foundations. It dispenses with the consistency of a normal lotion, and applies feeling nice and light. There’s also a decent number of shades to choose from! From a couple feet away from the mirror, my skin looked pretty good.
Cons: The price. At $39, this rivals high end department store foundations…but in my opinion, lacks the pay off. While I did think my skin looked pretty good, it did not look as amazing as I’d expect for the price. I’ve seen better results with THIS one or especially THIS one. And when I happened to look at my make-up up close in my car mirror, I could see several spots where it dried looking splotchy — it’s hard to blend seamlessly. Hoping it was an error in my application, I wore it for a few more days with the same result.
Here are a couple of pictures taken after a day’s worth of wear:
As you can see, it looks pretty good (other than the spots that my sunglasses rubbed off).
Overall, I felt that this was a decent foundation, but for the price, you can definitely do better. Given the hype, I was not impressed and will not be purchasing again.
